Slow Cooker Chili is Always On The Menu

I recently made a fabulous slow cooker chili for diner that was just out of this world.  I haven't made chili before and tried a new recipe.  My husband absolutely raved over it and had two huge bowls.  This chili is hearty, satisfying and will stick to your bones on cold winter nights.  The best part is that it's so simple to make! Throw the ingredients in the slow cooker and go on with your day while a fabulous chili cooks.

I slow cooked the chili for 7 hours and the aroma of it was so fragrant that you could smell it from outside of my home! My kitchen is right near a window by my front door, so I'm assuming it traveled out that way somehow.  It was funny to be able to smell it from the outside, but I'm sure my neighbors were jealous!

Ingredients:
2 lb lean ground beef
1 large onion chopped (1 cup)
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 can 28 oz diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (16 oz) chili beans in sauce, undrained
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Steps:
1. In 12-inch skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until beef is brown.  Drain after.

2.  In slow cooker, mix beef, onion, and remaining ingredients.

3. Cover and cook on low setting for 6-8 hours.

I added chili seasoning into the recipe.  Feel free to substitute or add anything else in.  The result is a flavorful chili that is utterly delicious.  You'll be requested to make this time and time again.
