Sink Your Teeth into Hungry Monkey Baking Company's Brownies

My sweet tooth runs rampant most days and can sometimes be unstoppable.  When it comes to baked goods, I prefer chocolate over practically everything else.  You cannot beat a freshly baked warm chocolate chip cookie, or a slice of chocolate cake with perfectly creamy frosting.  Of course a decadent brownie would put a smile on anyone's face too.  I've passed my love of treats onto my two children who also cannot live life without something sugar based either.  Can you blame them though? 

Hungry Monkey Baking Company shares my philosophy of loving sweet treats too.  They create natural "crazy good" made from scratch treats that will make your belly smile.  You can choose from banana breads, triple chocolate thick brownies, and macaroons.  There are various treat boxes with varying contents available that make a perfect gift for anyone for practically any occasion.  Grandma's birthday? Check.  A care package to your niece at college? You bet.  The brownies are rich and dense and made in small batches with premium, all-natural ingredients.  How can you resist brownies chock full of dark chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, and cocoa? You cant, it's impossible.  There's always a perfect time for brownies, no matter what.  Don't forget an icy glass of cold milk to go alongside it. 

When the treat box arrived, I was ready to dig in.  The box is presented nicely with pink crinklies and is well protected while your chocolate squares of heaven are in transit.  Each pack of brownies contains 3 brownies.  These are not your average brownies by any means.  These beauties are large and in charge and so thick.  A care card is inside the box to tell you how to store your brownies (that is if they aren't attacked right away!) You can store in the fridge to eat within a few days or keep them in the freezer to enjoy at a later point.

I like to bake myself, so I am no stranger to whipping up from scratch goodies from time to time.  My ingredients are definitely not premium or all-natural, so it's nice to be able to sample treats that are.  Quality ingredients definitely take baked goods up a notch!

Of course I tried one of the brownies right away because if I didn't, then I think my husband would have thought I was dying or something was truly wrong! Upon first glance, they were just so beautiful.  I loved how thick they were as well as their gorgeous dark color.  These were definitely one of the thickest brownies I've ever tried.  I will say the cocoa flavor is very prominent upon first bite but mixes so well with the dark and semi-sweet chocolate.  What a winning combination to truly make anyone's belly smile.  A glass of icy cold milk would pair excellently with these beauties.  The brownies are sweet but not sickeningly sweet.  I'd say the sweetness level is just right.  I had no trouble finishing the entire thing.  If you love brownies, you'll definitely want to sink your teeth into one of Hungry Monkey Baking Company's brownies. 

I put the remaining brownies into the freezer for the future.  I have to make sure my kids don't go bananas (see that monkey joke?) and eat all of them.  I know they will love them when they sample them soon! If you choose to freeze yours, zap them in the microwave for a few minutes to wake them up.  If you REALLY want to amp up the dessert experience, a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of the warm brownie would definitely be heavenly.

Start Your Day With Corner 1 Coffee

Most people's mornings cannot begin without a cup of their favorite liquid caffeine to help them get through the day.  While some cups of coffee are better than others, wouldn't it be nice to have a rich and flavorful cup of coffee each and every day? It's time for you to delight your taste buds and treat yourself to only fantastic coffee from here on out.

Corner 1 Coffee was started by 3 brothers with a passion for coffee.  To this day, they are still a second-generation family owned and operated business.  They are also focused on sustainability and doing their part for their environment.  All of the coffee they produce is made of 100% Arabica beans, certified by Fair Trade USA, and certified organic (excluding their 100% Colombian single-serve coffee).  

They don't have flavored blends but focus on good old-fashioned traditional coffee with no frills.  You can choose from either whole bean or single-cup, depending on your preference.  You'll instantly notice the fresh and hearty taste.  Pair your morning cup of joe with a chocolate croissant or a blueberry muffin and you've got yourself an all-star breakfast. 

My husband is the primary coffee drinker in our family.  He cannot start his day without his coffee, but for some reason I've never been a big coffee lover.  Whenever I have to buy him a gift, it's evident that it will be coffee related.  I guess I can say he's easy to buy for! Jay is partial to certain flavors, but he's always up for trying new brands and blends.  It's safe to say that coffee runs through his veins instead of blood.

Since we have a single serve brewer, I opted to receive the single-serve variety. The blends available are Colombian, Fair Trade Organic Breakfast, Fair Trade Organic French Roast, and Fair Trade Organic Signature Roast.  Which blend sounds best to you? Jay was thrilled at the generosity of Corner 1 Coffee when four gigantic cases with 100 single-serve cups inside showed up at our door!  I think he'll have coffee for a lifetime now! We received one case of each blend available.

The single-serve pods fit perfectly in any single-serve brewer for a delicious cup of coffee any time of day or night.  The great thing about these blends is that since they are no-frills you can drink them as is or dress them up however you'd like.  Maybe you'd like the Fair Trade Organic Signature Roast with caramel flavoring or would prefer to add cinnamon to the Colombian coffee? However you choose to drink your cup of joe, you'll be able to make it your own.

Jay started the morning off with a cup of the Fair Trade Organic Signature French Roast and a fruit salad that I made him.  He preferred to not put anything into the coffee to be able to enjoy the true taste of the coffee that wasn't masked by a flavored creamer.  This is a big deal for him since he usually enjoys adding some kind of flavoring agent to his coffee.  A steaming cup of goodness emerged from our K-Cup machine and was ready for him to enjoy.  Jay said the coffee was excellent on its own and reminded him of what he buys from his local coffee shop!  It was not too strong or too weak but just right for his liking.  He noticed the beautiful coloring of the coffee too.  The fruit salad was a healthy pairing with the coffee, although I think he would have preferred something with a bit more carbs to go with it!

Jay is certainly looking forward to trying the other blends over the coming days.  Since we have so many single-serve cups, we'll be sharing with friends and family.  We're looking at it as our duty to spread the Corner 1 Coffee love to others. :) As summer rolls by and we get into the start of the Fall and holiday season, we'll be preparing many cups of coffee for our guests for parties too.
