Delicious Summer Canning Offerings from Balducci's and Kings

It seems like summer whizzes by and is here and gone in a flash.  We're stuck with cold temps for far longer than we're exposed to that sweet summer weather.  If you're looking to make summer truly last, it's time to make a visit to Kings and Balducci's.

Kings Food Markets and Balducci's are two specialty gourmet food markets located in NJ, CT, and NY.  They both carry exceptional foods like prepared dishes, produce, meats, seafood, and of course mouth-watering desserts.

Summer produce is at its peak right now and fall will be here before you know it.  With cooler temperatures just a month away, Kings and Balducci's are giving their customers the opportunity to preserve their fabulous summer fruits and veggies to enjoy now or at a later point.  The stores are providing everything from fresh produce and jars to expert advice from chefs and pickling and canning cookbooks.  With complete guidance, they have the chillier season covered.

On Monday August 5th, from 12-4 PM both Kings and Balducci's will have professional demos and canning workshops in all their stores to feature Preserving The Bounty of Summer.  There also will be special tastings of local produce.  Canning gives you the option to enjoy your delicious fruit and veggies now or later.   You can sink your teeth into fabulous local blueberries, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, and a wonderful collection of stone fruit such as apricots and peaches.

The store will show you how to hold onto the glory with pickles, sauces, shrubs, infusions, syrups, or jams by pickling, mulling, infusing, or freezing.  Who wouldn't love to hold on to that ripe beauty for weeks or far deeper into the colder months of the year.

Wouldn't it be delicious to enjoy a freshly baked piece of bread spread with blueberry jam and a steaming mug of hot tea on a chilly October morning? Use up your fruit and vegetables and enjoy their wonderful taste for some time to come.
