Heelys Review

Heelys are the perfect form of exercise and fun all rolled into one. What's better then rollerskating and then having a real shoe that you can actually wear? Pop in the wheels whenever you want to have some fun and let the good times roll, literally!

Heelys are the two-in-one shoe that lets you take life at your own pace. With the wheels out, the stylish designs perform and look just like any other shoe. When you easily put the wheels in, you roll at a different speed. Heelys are about exploring your freedom, unleashing the fun and empowering you to be fearless.” Heelys is available for men, women, boys and girls.

I was sent a pair of stylish black and pink Heelys called "Wave." They have an element of fun to them and I always love pink and black together.

I never thought that I would own a pair of Heelys, honestly! I've known that these shoes have been popular for years but I never could picture myself wearing them until now. I am always looking for new ways of exercising and if that exercise routine can be fun, I'm all for it!

This video is a great instructional tool for Heelys beginners.

I was nervous to use the Heelys when I first received them because it had been years since I had previously went rollerskating. I watched a few tutorials and made sure that I knew what I was doing before I used them in the park. I have long hallways in my house so I practiced in them. I slowly rolled down the hallways while holding the wall so I could keep my balance. The first few times weren't that easy and I had a hard time keeping my balance as my feet weren't used to wearing the Heelys. Eventually I got the hang of it which was great. Each time I practiced in them in my house I got better and better. I then felt confident enough to take the Heelys for a spin in the park. I used the runner's path so I could roller skate fast in them. It was a lot of fun and very good exercise! I was a little worried when I was rollerskating in them that I would lose my balance but I was fine! I could even feel my exercise paying off in my thighs and calves! What a win-win!

If you want to remove the wheels to wear Heelys as a regular shoe, it's very easy! There are 3 simple steps. First, hold the shoe with the sole facing outwards. Next, push hard with both thumbs on the side of the wheel until one axle begins to come out. Lastly, after one end of the axle is partially out, turn the shoe around and push on the other side of the wheel to remove. It is easy to remove the wheels and it did not take me long at all to figure it out.

The shoes are constructed well and seem very solid and durable. They are comfortable and I can easily take them off and put them on. I feel that they are built to last and I could wear and use them for some time to come. I am not sure that I would wear the Heelys as a regular shoe when I'm out and about, unless I was going to the gym. I prefer to use them just for skating though. A child would absolutely love Heelys and they would be the perfect gift for them. Pick out a style and color they will enjoy and let them get in some late summer fun! I don't feel that the Heelys are unsafe for a child to use although they should be supervised and help the first few times they wear them.

Thanks to Heelys I'll be rollerskating in style now! :)

*Disclosure: I received a pair of Heelys at no charge in exchange for writing this review Thoughts and opinions are strictly mine.
