Nutrisystem Week 1

Well, over the past two days I have received 55 lbs of Nutrisystem food. One frozen box of food, and one dry package of foods. I have many delicious looking items to choose from like pancakes, french toast, a range of pasta dishes, asian beef, orange chicken, ice cream sandwich bars, and more. I have 28 days worth of breakfasts, lunches, dinners, desserts/snacks. All of the food is separated by meals which is helpful, because I can just grab what I want and go. I really like the fact that Nutrisystem is built on support. If you have any questions, concerns, need advice etc, they are there for you, as well as a support chat on the website.

Check out a picture of all of my food. My freezer is about to burst!

The kit comes with a meal planner guide which gives you ideas on what is acceptable to eat for dinner if you are going out to a restaurant. Tips are also included like asking the waitress to box up half of your dinner, leave out certain sauces/dressings on food, etc. A food portion size guide also accompanies that. There is also a section in the guide where you can list out everything you ate for the day and at what time, so you can see exactly what you're eating which is very helpful. I will be taking advantage of this tool. You're also allowed to have a dairy, protein, or vegetable with your lunch, and you can have a vegetable or fruit with dinner too which gives a nice boost if you're worried about still being hungry.

Today is my first day on the program.
For breakfast I had the lowfat granola cereal around 8 am. Despite the small portion, it filled me up and tasted great. I don't usually have a large breakfast, so my body is used to small portions in the morning.

I had lunch around noon, and I chose the pasta parmesean with broccoli. It was quick to make and really tasted great. I loved the flavor of the sauce and the pasta with the broccoli was good too. The hardest thing for me might be drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day. I do drink plenty of water per day, but I don't normally drink that much. I won't have any trouble eating the recommended amount of fruit and vegetables because I eat both on a daily basis anyway.

I had a snack around 3 pm of 1/2 cup of raspberries. I did 20 min of a cardio work out DVD too.
I was hungry at random times throughout the day, and I hope that will subside in the next coming weeks. I really like that the food tastes great and I don't feel like I'm on a diet! That's the best part.

For dinner I had the glazed chicken tenders which I also really enjoyed. I like how vegetables were included for a healthy balance. I had an ice cream sandwich bar for dessert.

Over the weekend I need to buy some frozen vegetables to have with my lunch and dinners.

I want to make posts every Thursday and it will always be in the format of the ending of the week and the beginning of the week. I will weigh myself once a week. I will tell you how many pounds I am down next Thursday.
