Laura Mercier Review
Wearing makeup is a part of my daily life. I couldn't imagine not including it in my beauty routine. I love to experiment with new colors and shades, not to mention it's a lot of fun. Who doesn't want to change up their look every so often? It's important to express yourself and makeup is the perfect medium for doing so.
Laura Mercier is a world-renowned makeup artist and creator of Laura Mercier cosmetics, skincare, body & bath, and fragrance. The Laura Mercier philosophy revolves around the flawless face - the concept that making skin look perfect is the first and foremost important thing a woman can do to achieve a great look. My main concern is wanting my skin to look as best as possible. I'm always searching for that product to give me flawless skin. When I stumbled upon Laura Mercier's foundation primer, it sounded like just the thing that my skin needed.
This lightweight, water-based primer creates a smooth, invisible layer that acts as a buffer between the skin and makeup. Specialized for oily, sensitive, and acne-prone skin types, its high water content soothes surface dehydration around active blemishes.
The primer comes in a decent sized tube and there is a lot of product in it. I used it on clean, washed skin and then put my foundation on top of it. It easily comes out and looks like liquid foundation. The light-weight primer easily and smoothly rubs into my skin with no problem. It matched my skin tone perfectly too. I instantly noticed that my skin looked different and better once I applied it, even with no foundation on! Once I put my foundation on top of it I really noticed the difference. I really think it improved the quality of my skin. It made my makeup look flawless and last longer. I really liked the way it made me look. I didn't notice any irritants or issues developing on my face when I wear the primer. This is the perfect primer for guaranteeing a fabulous look for any face!

Kraft MilkBite Review
Once I find a brand that I like, I am loyal to that brand for years. I like to find new brand favorites of course, but there are certain products that I only buy from the brand I am loyal to. I've been a long-time fan of Kraft cheeses and snack products for years. They are one of the only cheese brands I will buy. I trust Kraft for quality, taste, and price. Kraft has stood the test of time and has been popular for many, many years. There's a reason why.
Kraft is a global snacks powerhouse with an unrivaled portfolio of brands people love. They market crackers, confectionery treats, beverages, cheeses, grocery products, and convenient meals in approxmiately 170 countries. Most people don't realize that Kraft makes more than just cheese and macaroni and cheese.
When I heard that Kraft had recently introduced a line of milk and granola bars, I knew I wanted to try them. Kraft MilkBite milk and granola bars are made with real milk and calcium, making them an excellent source of calcium with 30% of the daily recommended value. They are a great source of vitamin D and fiber, include 5g of protein, 7g of whole grains, and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. They do need to be kept refrigerated though. The bars come in five delicious flavors-chocolate, strawberry, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, and mixed berry. Each box contains five bars. A flavor everyone's taste buds!
I was sent two boxes of Kraft bars to review, chocolate and strawberry. The bars came in a cute Kraft lunchbag too! I'm a big fan of most granola bars, so I had a good feeling that I would like these.
The lunch bag is perfect for keeping my lunch cold at work. It's spacious inside as well.
I tried the chocolate one first, of course. :) The bar is a small rectangular sized treat. It has chocolate chips inside and on the top and was drizzled with beautiful chocolate on top. The bar was thicker and denser than most granola bars than I am used to, which I liked. The snack was chewy, fresh, and full of great granola and chocolate taste. The chocolate flavor was prevalent, but not overly sweet. I enjoyed that the bar was cold, it was refreshing. It would be the perfect cool treat on a hot summer's day too. The bar would also be a nice, healthy snack to throw in a lunchbox or for a mid-day pick-me-up. I like that it has whole grain and protein benefits. I'm all for anything that tastes great and has health benefits too.
The strawberry was very enjoyable as well. The size of the bar was the same size as the chocolate one. The bar had white icing drizzled generously on the top. There were chunks of strawberries on top and inside. The strawberry chunks were large and full of flavor. The flavor of strawberry was noticeable and the treat was very fresh. Each bite was packed with an equal amount of strawberry chunks and granola. In my opinion this bar was a little sweeter than the chocolate, but not so overly sweet. This would be a great snack to keep in your fridge at work if you need a sweet treat during the day. It's also equally as perfect to throw in a child's lunchbox for school. Keep an icepack in there to keep it cold though.
Each bar contains 140 calories which isn't terrible, but remember it's not an extremely low-calorie snack.
I've enjoyed the bars that I've tried so far and I look forward to trying the other MilkBite flavors!

Burt's Bees Gud Giveaway
I've been a long time fan of Burt's Bees for years. I love their quality, natural products that provide wonderful results. When I heard that they had a new line extension, I was very excited! These products are definitely not to be missed!
Gud is a natural product line that features body lotions, body butters, body washes, shampoo's, conditioners, and more! Nothing is tested on animals and the products have no chemicals or parabans. The packaging is adorable and features bright, cheery flowers. The scents range from Vanilla Flame, Pearanormal, the sweet Floral Cherrynova; and Orange Petalooza. Each scent has a package of products. Regardless of what scent you choose, Gud will leave your skin and hair feeling soft and moisturized. Don't worry, there's enough Gud to go around. :)
Natural products are important to me. I don't like to use anything that has a lot of chemicals or additives in it. Why expose yourself to those ingredients when you don't have to?

Kiddie Academy Post #4
This is post #4 for Kiddie Academy. I had never thought about opening a franchise, but this is something that is working well for people, especially Angie and Rafael!
Angie and Rafael Monreal opened their Kiddie Academy, franchise, which is located at 18600 NW 87 Avenue, Miami, Florida, in September 2007, at ages 30 and 36.
Although they are still relatively new to the area, the couple is showing parents that the innovative curriculum, hands-on approach, and commitment to each child, the hallmarks of the Kiddie Academy system, make their academy unlike any other child care provider in the area.
Background: Angie and Rafael Monreal wanted to open their own business and spent a year researching various franchises and other types of businesses. They were still unsure what concept would be the best fit until fate intervened. While employed in the financial sector, Angie began searching for a child care center for her children to attend, but was dismayed by what she found. Not wanting to leave her children at an establishment not up to her standards, Angie used her business know-how and determination to open her own Kiddie Academy franchise, the first child care provider in the area that met her standards. Kiddie Academy appealed to the Monreals as business owners, as well as parents. Local residents see that enthusiasm from the moment they walk through the door of the Monreal's academy.
Goals: The Monreals are currently working with their staff and clients to streamline their operation and discover how best to provide the families in the Miami area with the best child care possible. Once the Monreals get their first Miami academy established, they would like to further assist local parents by expanding into a second location. The Monreals also hope to begin contributing to a variety of charities in the area within the coming months.
Challenges: As a new business in the area, the Monreals find the biggest challenge has been getting the word out to attract new families to their location. As more people see how good they are, their enrollment numbers continue to climb.
Results: Since opening, the Monreals have seen a steady increase in enrollment based on referrals from currently enrolled families – a sure sign that their existing customers believe in the concept as much as the Monreals do. At the end of each day, when children are lined up outside her office door refusing to leave without a hug goodbye, Angie knows that becoming a Kiddie Academy franchisee was the right decision.

Kiddie Academy appealed to the Monreals as business owners, as well as parents. Local residents see that enthusiasm from the moment they walk through the door of the Monreal's academy.
Goals: The Monreals are currently working with their staff and clients to streamline their operation and discover how best to provide the families in the Miami area with the best child care possible. Once the Monreals get their first Miami academy established, they would like to further assist local parents by expanding into a second location. The Monreals also hope to begin contributing to a variety of charities in the area within the coming months.
Challenges: As a new business in the area, the Monreals find the biggest challenge has been getting the word out to attract new families to their location. As more people see how good they are, their enrollment numbers continue to climb.
Results: Since opening, the Monreals have seen a steady increase in enrollment based on referrals from currently enrolled families – a sure sign that their existing customers believe in the concept as much as the Monreals do. At the end of each day, when children are lined up outside her office door refusing to leave without a hug goodbye, Angie knows that becoming a Kiddie Academy franchisee was the right decision.

Roku Review
A lot of movie watching happens in my house. I'm a big movie fan, so I'm constantly watching the latest flick. When you buy a lot of DVD's, you can only have so many before you start to run out of room in your TV or DVD shelf to store them. Wouldn't it be nice to watch whatever you wanted, any time of day or night, even if you don't own the movie? That's where the Roku steps in!
The Roku is a digital media player which supports signals up to 1080p. It features a built-in wireless networking that allows you to stream media to your TV, so you can enjoy your favorite TV shows, movies and more in stunning high-definition. The Roku library allows you access to more than 100,000 movies and TV shows from Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video and more.

I had Netflix years ago, but keeping up with sending in the disks and waiting to receive your next one was a pain. I was excited at the thought of watching unlimited movies and tv shows for one low price a month! Of course the fact that I didn't have to deal with the discs was a nice added bonus. I re-signed up with Netflix and couldn't wait to get the Roku party started!
The device was very easy to install and the instructions were clearly explained too. Within about 10 minutes everything was hooked up and ready to go. I had hundreds of TV shows and movies at my fingertips! You can search by movie genre for specifically what you're interested in. The quality is excellent and it's like watching a movie in the theater or from a true DVD. Sometimes the connection will be a bit slower than normal, but that's to be expected. I haven't had any issues with the connection not working at all. You can browse the selections with the included remote. I love seeing old TV shows from years and years ago, it's fun to watch them again. I know that this little black box is going to revamp my movie nights completely! I'm excited to watch many movies that I've never seen before.
The Roku would be the perfect gift for any movie or TV buff. They will absolutely love it if you surprise them with it.

Rosemary-Orange Grilled Chicken and Veggies:
Ingredients
-
1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed
-
1 small eggplant, cut into 1-inch cubes
-
2 medium red, green and/or yellow bell peppers, cut into 1-1/2-inch squares
-
1 medium yellow squash, cubed
-
30 sprays I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!® Spray Original, divided
-
1 tsp. chopped fresh rosemary
-
1 tsp. grated orange peel
-
2 Tbsp. orange juice
Instructions
1.Spray chicken and vegetables with 15 sprays I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!® Spray Original, then toss with with rosemary and orange peel. Alternately thread chicken and vegetables on skewers*.
2.Grill or broil chicken and vegetables, turning once, 8 minutes or until chicken is thoroughly cooked and vegetables are just tender.
3.Arrange chicken and vegetables on serving platter. Spray with remaining 15 Sprays, then drizzle with orange juice.
*If using wooden skewers, soak in water at least 30 minutes prior to use.

I was sent a pack of jumbo Bavarian pretzels. They actually arrived to me tonight and they were beautiful! I couldn't wait to dig in and enjoy one.
The pretzels are a toasty brown color and they are very large! You can heat them in the oven or in the microwave. The pretzels come with a salt pack too. Just put a few drops of water on the pretzel for the salt to stick. I added a little bit of salt and popped my snack into the microwave. In just under 1 minute the pretzel was done.

The pretzel was just perfect! It was warm and had a great chewy firmness to it, but had a balance of softness with it too. I like that I only added a little bit of salt to it, instead of making it extremely salty. The salt gave the pretzel a wonderful boost of flavor. It was also very fresh, it reminded me of one of the soft pretzels you'd get in the mall. It was a very satisfying snack that fulfilled my carbs craving. I'm excited to have one of my favorite snacks waiting for me in the freezer in the coming days. I was sent a pack of jumbo Bavarian pretzels. They actually arrived to me tonight and they were beautiful! I couldn't wait to dig in and enjoy one.
The pretzels are a toasty brown color and they are very large! You can heat them in the oven or in the microwave. The pretzels come with a salt pack too. Just put a few drops of water on the pretzel for the salt to stick. I added a little bit of salt and popped my snack into the microwave. In just under 1 minute the pretzel was done.

The pretzel was just perfect! It was warm and had a great chewy firmness to it, but had a balance of softness with it too. I like that I only added a little bit of salt to it, instead of making it extremely salty. The salt gave the pretzel a wonderful boost of flavor. It was also very fresh, it reminded me of one of the soft pretzels you'd get in the mall. It was a very satisfying snack that fulfilled my carbs craving. I'm excited to have one of my favorite snacks waiting for me in the freezer in the coming days. Sena Cases Review
There's only one computer in my household and it's my boyfriend's. I have my laptop from college but it's painfully slow and very old. So when my boyfriend's using his laptop, I only have my iPad. I can't really blog on my iPad, it's a challenge and doesn't work very well. I used to have to wait to use the computer and that was annoying. Now my days of annoyance are gone!

I've been wanting an iPad keyboard for a long time. It's hard and frustrating to write emails or surf the web when you keep pushing the wrong letters on the screen. Instead of going to yahoo.com, you go to yafhoo.com. Not quite the same, huh? I've been eyeing various iPad keyboard online and drooling over them, and hoping to own one of them soon.
Well my lucky day eventually came when Sena Cases gave me the opportunity to review a black leather iPad keyboard case. I was sent a black leather keyboard case and I love it! The case also comes in red or orange as well.
The case is a sleek black one that is classic. I love black electronics cases, they are always in style and truly look great all the time.
The keyboard is an integrated bluetooth keyboard for iPad 1. It connects to the iPad very easily. Just easily slip the iPad into the case and turn the power switch on. Once you've done that, push the connect button on the top of the case. After that, go into your settings on the iPad and activate the bluetooth setting. The keyboard is then connected with your iPad The case came with no instructions, so I had to go on the website and find them. I do think the case should come with them, because not everyone would think to do that right away. The buttons on the keyboard are easy to push and I had no trouble typing on the iPad at all. I won't make any typo's now!
I love that this small little case turns my iPad into a mini computer! There's a stand that pops out in the back of the case, so as to easily prop the iPad up on a desk or table. The case stands up without any problems. The case easily folds up to be stored in a bag, purse, or drawer too.
I'm really happy that I'll now always have computer access even when my boyfriend's using the laptop! This would be the perfect gift for a technology lover who you normally don't know what to buy for. They will love it! Why not treat yourself too?

Fun POM Wonderful Recipes
I bet you never would have guessed that the delicious pomegranate juice that you love could be turned into fabulous recipes, right? I have some delicious and satisfying recipes that will turn up the heat on your love for POM wonderful!
POM Salsa
Juice from 1 large POM Wonderful Pomegranate*, or 1/4 cup POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice
2 cups arils from 2-3 large POM Wonderful Pomegranates or POM POMS fresh pomegranate arils
3-4 teaspoons chopped jalapeno pepper
1/4 cup finely chopped yellow bell pepper
4 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
Preparation:
Quesadilla:
Score 1-2 fresh pomegranates and place in a bowl of water. Break open the pomegranate underwater to free the arils (seed sacs). The arils will sink to the bottom of the bowl and the membrane will float to the top. Sieve and put the arils in a separate bowl. Reserve 1/2 cup of the arils from fruit and set aside. (Refrigerate or freeze remaining arils for another use.)
Place 2 strips of cheese on each tortilla
Using fingers, press 1 teaspoon of arils into cheese.
Add 2 slices of pear, sprinkle with sugar. Fold tortilla in half.
Add 1/2 teaspoon oil to a nonstick skillet and heat.
Place folded tortillas in the pan and brown lightly; turn over and cook until crisp. Add remaining 1/2 teaspoon of oil if needed.
Cut each tortilla into halves and serve with POM Salsa
POM Salsa:
Score 2-3 fresh pomegranates and place in a bowl of water. Break open the pomegranate under water to free the arils (seed sacs). The arils will sink to the bottom of the bowl and the membrane will float to the top. Sieve and put the arils in a separate bowl. Reserve 2 cups of the arils from the fruit and set aside. (Refrigerate or freeze remaining arils for another use.)
Prepare fresh pomegranate juice.*
Thoroughly mix to combine all ingredients. (Salsa will keep covered, in the refrigerator, for 2 to 3 days.)
POM Velvet Cupcakes with POM Cream Cheese Frosting
Time to Table: 35 Minutes Prep, 20 - 25 Minutes Baking and 20 Minutes Cooling
Servings: 30 regular cupcakes
Ingredients:
POM Cream Cheese Frosting
Juice from 3-4 large POM Wonderful Pomegranates*, or 1-1/2 cups POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice
1 cup arils from 1-2 large POM Wonderful Pomegranates or POM POMS fresh pomegranate arils
4 oz. soft unsalted butter
8 oz. cream cheese, at room temperature
14 oz. powdered sugar
POM Velvet Cupcakes

16 oz. granulated sugar
12 oz. soft unsalted butter (3 sticks

15 oz. all-purpose flour

Reserve 1 cup of the arils from fruit and set aside, (refrigerate or freeze remaining arils for another use), reduce the pomegranate juice, over low heat, down to 3 fl. oz., Allow to cool, place butter into electric mixer bowl with paddle attachment and cream on medium-high speed for 1 minute, add the cream cheese and continue to mix for 2 more minutes, turn the speed down to low and slowly add in the powdered sugar and the pomegranate juice reduction, mix until the sugar is fully combined, remove icing from the mixer and place into a piping bag with a round or star tip.
POM Velvet Cupcakes:
Preheat oven to 350ºF, reduce the pomegranate juice, over low heat, down to 1/2 cup, place sugar and soft butter in the bowl of an electric mixer with the paddle attachment, cream on medium-high speed, until the mixture is pale yellow and fluffy, turn the speed down to low and add the eggs in one at a time, in a separate bowl, combine the buttermilk, pomegranate juice reduction, white vinegar and vanilla extract, and then slowly add half of this to the mixer, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt, and then sift at least two times until well mixed, add half of this to the mixer, add the remaining half of the liquids to the mixer, and then the remaining dry ingredients, finish off with the heavy cream, beat just until combined, place cupcake liners into cupcake pan, and using a spoon, fill with cake batter until it is just about 3/4 full, bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, allow the pan to cool slightly, and then remove cupcakes to a wire rack to cool fully, once the cupcakes are cooled completely, they can be iced with the pomegranate cream cheese frosting and topped with fresh pomegranate arils.

Reserve 1 cup of the arils from fruit and set aside, (refrigerate or freeze remaining arils for another use), reduce the pomegranate juice, over low heat, down to 3 fl. oz., Allow to cool, place butter into electric mixer bowl with paddle attachment and cream on medium-high speed for 1 minute, add the cream cheese and continue to mix for 2 more minutes, turn the speed down to low and slowly add in the powdered sugar and the pomegranate juice reduction, mix until the sugar is fully combined, remove icing from the mixer and place into a piping bag with a round or star tip.
POM Velvet Cupcakes:
Preheat oven to 350ºF, reduce the pomegranate juice, over low heat, down to 1/2 cup, place sugar and soft butter in the bowl of an electric mixer with the paddle attachment, cream on medium-high speed, until the mixture is pale yellow and fluffy, turn the speed down to low and add the eggs in one at a time, in a separate bowl, combine the buttermilk, pomegranate juice reduction, white vinegar and vanilla extract, and then slowly add half of this to the mixer, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt, and then sift at least two times until well mixed, add half of this to the mixer, add the remaining half of the liquids to the mixer, and then the remaining dry ingredients, finish off with the heavy cream, beat just until combined, place cupcake liners into cupcake pan, and using a spoon, fill with cake batter until it is just about 3/4 full, bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, allow the pan to cool slightly, and then remove cupcakes to a wire rack to cool fully, once the cupcakes are cooled completely, they can be iced with the pomegranate cream cheese frosting and topped with fresh pomegranate arils.
